About
Me
My name is Lisa Lyman and I have over 25 years office experience from legal secretary to executive assistant. I have also worked successfully for myself in America helping self-employed people with their promotional literature and offering suggestions to improve their client base. I type at over 70 wpm and am naturally creative and artistic as you can see from my Gallery.
I get a great deal of pleasure assisting self-employed people with their marketing. Showing them that an effective, professional business image does not need to cost a lot. Most of the people I work with want to make a living out of something they feel passionately about. They are not trying to make a multi-million pound fortune! I love the look on their faces when I hand over a proof and they see for the first time how professional their business can look and how proud they are of what they’re doing. It can give them quite a boost! And that’s where I get my satisfaction from.
Here is a more detailed CV:
LISA’S GIFTS (1/06 – TODAY): My family and I relocated to Devon where I concentrate on my artistic abilities. I am doing a Creative Arts Degree as well as selling my arts and crafts through Lisa’s Gifts. I create promotional literature and design small websites for self-employed people through Lisa’s Business Services.
INSPIRATIONAL FRIENDS NETWORK (1/02 – 12/05): Spurred on by my interest in mind, body, spirit subjects I organised a club which met monthly. I had over 100 members within the first few months and ran it as a business until 2005 where I handed it over to one of the members who continues it today. I designed an extensive website and all promotional materials as well as writing and editing a monthly 8 page newsletter.
LYMAN FAMILY (10/98-12/01): In October we took in our second nephew toddler. I spent my time helping them with their emotional difficulties. In 1998 I organized the move from the States to England and the Adoption of both children. In 1999 I organized the move from temporary accommodation to the house we purchased. I also studied art, stained glass and pottery and set-up my own studio at home.

Secretarial and general office duties were also provided. I left to expand my own desktop publishing business.
METRICOM, INC., ROCKLAND (11/92 - 7/94): I was a Technical Writer/Desktop Publisher as well as the Office Manager. I designed and wrote several Training Manuals as well as a large User Manual for Metricom’s software. I performed several training’s using the Training materials I had written. I decided to leave because of the long commute.
THE BEACH HOUSE, WEST DENNIS (8/91 - 6/92): I voluntarily took over the management of an abandoned Timeshare/Bed & Breakfast resort. I opened-up communication channels between timeshare owners, renewing their interest and set-up a management corporation. I dealt with all aspects of the business, upgraded the interior of the house and covered all housekeeping duties. Through my intensive marketing efforts, the business flourished. In June a third party outbid the timeshare owners and took over management.

My duties varied from organising and running the office to off-site management of two timeshare properties on the Cape as well as overseeing insurance coverage on a large portfolio of properties.
