About Me

Growing up in London I was always being creative making things, drawing and painting. My childhood dreams about being a fashion designer turned into dreams of designing wallpaper and fabrics. As a young adult, my creative abilities turned to secretarial work and displaying words on paper as a legal secretary for nine years.

Choosing to see some of the world, I travelled around Italy and moved to America. There the secretarial work became marketing material designs merging my creativeness, intuitiveness and my interest in complementary therapies by working for holistic practitioners.

Returning to England 9 years later I finally learnt to use coloured glass as a medium for my designs using the Tiffany or copper foil method. I have always loved the way coloured glass comes to life and glows when hanging in a window. Needing a more creative outlet than simply art, I was drawn into the world of card making tempted by all things glittery, sparkly and colourful. Feeling too restricted by cards, these turned into larger pictures and collages. Also enjoying knitting and sewing, I keep my eyes open for the wonderous new yarns that are now available. When I came across beautiful hand-dyed Welsh yarns I found a way of turning them into art by creating colourful tapestries. I was commissioned to create a large textile and created The Wall by knitting the "bricks".

Realising a long held dream, I am currently doing a Creative Arts Degree. Polishing up my artistic skills and talents and opening myself up to more creative pathways. With so much creative energy behind such a mixture of skills and talents, I usually have several projects on the go and many ideas for future ones!

I'd love to hear your comments, suggestions and ideas about my designs and my web-shop, so please feel free to email me.

I hope you enjoy my art as much as I do making it.
